KZ has to miss Hoorn and Schenk in the battle for the national title

The KZ korfball players have to do without Lars Hoorn from Purmerend and Marjolijn Schenk from Enkhuizen in the play-offs of the Korfball League. Both players have been out for a long time with knee injuries.

Last weekend KZ qualified for the play-offs of the Korfbal League by DVO beat by 28-21. In the semi-finals, coach Tim Bakker’s team will now face Fortuna from Delft. Both Lars Hoorn and Marjolijn Schenk will not be in this best-of-three series.

Both players have been out of action for a long time with a knee injury. Hoorn has a tear in his cruciate ligament and will therefore not be in action this season. Schenk was badly injured in the game against PKC last week. The player from Enkhuizen appears to have broken both her ankle and her fibula and also tore her knee ligament. For Schenk, the injury is extra annoying because, in addition to the end of the competition, she will also miss the upcoming World Games with the Dutch team.

This Saturday is the first of three games between KZ and Fortuna. The Zaankanters first visit Delft and receive the visitors a week later in Topsportcentrum De Koog. A possible decision game will take place on Tuesday, April 12 in Delft.
