In the early 1980s, Knud Boel Troelsen founded Kvik with one goal: everyone was entitled to a magnificent cuisine. And it is that Kvik was created as a counter reaction to the traditional way of buying kitchens. Its founder was convinced that there must be a simplest, most accessible, fastest and most transparent way to buy a kitchen. Since then, Kvik has designed and manufactured Danish designer kitchens, bathrooms and cabinets at surprisingly low prices.

Now, 15 years have passed since the firm landed in Spainin L’Hospitalet de Llobregat. franchisees Pep Morón and Hemi Roma, two lovers of Danish interior design, decoration and design with more than 15 years of specializationrun the 3 stores of – Kvik in Barcelona, Kvik Hospitalet, Kvik Barcelona Balmes and Kvik Barcelona Sant Joan, the latter open in the middle of the pandemic- and lead a team of more than 30 professionals with a long history in the sector.

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of its inauguration as the first store in Spain, Kvik Hospitalet is now fully updated and renewedand with a more nordic and modern look than ever, to continue offering Danish design within everyone’s reach.

Great national and international projection

And it is that, if there is something in which Pep and Hemi believe, it is in the Kvik concept and in the national and international projection of the signature.

For a year and a half, the brand has been in full expansion process in Spain. In recent months it has opened 6 stores in Spain -4 in Madrid, 1 in Valencia and another in Barcelona (Kvik Barcelona Sant Joan)- Y in the next 3 years it plans to open a minimum of 15 more stores.

Internationally, Kvik has a strong position in northern Europe and has successfully expanded into other markets to bring the quality and durability of Danish design to consumers all over the world. Europe and Asia. Currently, it has more than 160 stores spread over 13 countries which operates through an exclusive network of franchises on two continents.

Danish design within everyone’s reach

But what is the key to success? The firm is characterized by constantly innovate to offer high-quality Danish design at surprisingly low prices and that the client can receive more cooking for less money. Your secret? A range of carefully selected modelsa smart way to transport your kitchens -in flat packs– and more storage capacity –Up to 40% more space in base cabinets thanks to the XL and XXL by Kvik lines-. In addition, thanks to Kvik’s transparency, the customer always knows what he is spending every cent on.

And it is that the brand strives to challenge the conventional in the sector and to think of clever formulas to keep prices low. In this way, Kvik is able to combine aesthetics, functionality and sustainability in perfect harmony, creating quality designs that make the kitchen the soul of the house.

Because if the firm is clear about one thing, it is that the kitchen is much more than a practical place to cook and store. It’s also a place of disconnection and, ultimately, the heart of the home. Therefore, in 1999 Kvik created the concept KitchenEncuentro®which proposes kitchens in which spaces are shared and enjoyed as a familynot only for cooking, but also for teleworking, disconnecting and as a meeting space.

Example of this is Hand, his most emblematic series and today the kitchen of more than 150,000 homes throughout Europeor Veda Touchthe latest news from the firm. A kitchen that represents what is expected of Danish design: Simplicity, well thought out solutions and endless possibilitiesall with sustainability as the central axis.

Sustainability, a fundamental pillar for Kvik

And it is that the firm has sustainability in its DNA. 100% of the wood used by Kvik is certified responsibly sourced (FSC) wood; all the laminate fronts are made from recycled PET plastic bottles -for every 60 cm of frontage, Kvik recycles between 40 and 50 plastic bottles-; and, in addition, the brand has launched the first recycled wood fiber (MDF) kitchen frontsa material traditionally made from virgin wood, becoming one of the few companies in the sector that use it.

In 2021 the firm managed to reduce its CO2 emissions in its own production to 0 and, now, Kvik has set itself two ambitious goals in terms of sustainability: that by 2024 50% of all raw materials used come from recycled sources and be 100% C02 positive in 2025including indirect emissions from its suppliers.
