Germany’s handball players have to do without youngster Julian Köster in the first of two test matches against world champion Denmark.
The backcourt player of VfL Gummersbach is struggling with a cold. According to national coach Alfred Gislason, Köster will not travel to the game on Thursday (8:45 p.m./zdf.de) in Aalborg, but a mission on Sunday in Hamburg (2:15 p.m./ZDF) is possible.
“He has a very bad cold but no fever, so I still have hope that he can play the second game,” Gislason said at a digital media event on Tuesday.
In the Baltic Sea resort of Damp in Schleswig-Holstein, the German team is completing their first course this week since they finished fifth at the World Championships in January.
