Korfball players KZ reach championship group at the expense of Blauw-Wit

Thanks to a victory over Blauw-Wit, KZ has secured a place in the championship group. The team from Koog aan de Zaan won in Amsterdam after an attractive match 24-30. Blauw-Wit has been sentenced to participate in the relegation pool due to the defeat.

Strong start

Koog-Zaandijk got off to a flying start and quickly took a 1-5 lead. Reason for the coaches of Blauw-Wit to request a time out right away. The team from Amsterdam had a hard time making a fist against the much scoring fellow provincial and so KZ eventually went into halftime with an 8-15 lead.

After the interruption, Blauw-Wit was a lot sharper, but KZ was not put off. Also in the second company, Tim Bakker’s team continued to score steadily. Blauw-Wit came back to 17-19 halfway through the second half, but then it was KZ’s turn again. The guests ran out to a comfortable 24-30 victory in the final phase.

Championship group

With the win, KZ qualifies for the championship group. Together with Fortuna and LDODK, the Zaankanters are the representatives from Group A of the Korfbal League. In the same group, Blauw-Wit was sentenced to the relegation pool due to the defeat, along with KCC and Dalto.
