When Hanna R. (25, name changed) separated from him after a year and a half of love, he went crazy. Attacked her in her yoga studio: wanted to kill her. The student survived with serious injuries.

Because of attempted insidious murder and dangerous bodily harm, Oliver G. (41) has to go to jail for nine years. “He acted with direct intent to kill,” the judge Montag said in her verdict.

At the end of the relationship, Hanna R.* was no longer able or willing to deal with his psychological problems. “She needed more distance. He didn’t accept the limits. A fatal spiral ensued.” Hanna R. then completely broke off contact.

“At that moment at the latest he started thinking about how he could kill her.”

On June 12, 2021, Oliver G. was waiting in Thaerstraße (Friedrichshain) in front of the yoga studio where she taught as a teacher. The course participants had left and Hanna R. had also packed up her things and wanted to turn off the light from the floor lamp, “when he grabbed her hair from behind and stabbed her in the upper body”.

A lengthy struggle ensued. She struggled desperately, screaming… The knife fell to the ground. When he tried to pull a second one out of his backpack, she managed to escape into the street. He followed with a kind of cleaver. The fight continued on the sidewalk. Oliver G. gave his ex further injuries to his head, neck, chest, back… Under the eyes and shouts of many passers-by. Hanna R.’s resistance became weaker and weaker. The pool of blood she was lying in was getting bigger and bigger.
