Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko is ready to go to war with a machine gun in his hands in case of a Russian attack on Ukraine. He stated this in the program “Freedom of Speech by Slavik Shuster” in broadcast TV channel “Ukraine 24”.

“If military aggression starts, I, as a former soldier, will take a machine gun in my hands and go to fight for Ukraine,” Klitschko said.

According to the mayor, the Ukrainian authorities do not want war and are doing everything to prevent this from happening. At the same time, it is impossible to exclude the possibility that Russia could attack the country, Klitschko noted. The politician added that there are now more than 100,000 soldiers of the Russian army on the Russian-Ukrainian border.

Klitschko proposed to draw up a plan for the mayors of Ukrainian cities in case of emergency

Recently, Western countries have begun to actively declare Russia’s plans to invade Ukraine. On January 21, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia had concentrated more than 100,000 troops on the border with Ukraine and deployed forces to Belarus. He noted that such a balance of power would allow the country to attack Ukraine from the south, east and north.
