Rising team Arminia Bielefeld could have been leaders of the 2nd Bundesliga for one night at least one night. This did not happen. That was also due to Felix Klaus from SpVgg Greuther Fürth – he was involved in all gates of his team.
Klaus, 33, started his professional career in Fürth many years ago, and has been back at the game association since the beginning of the year. Since then he has been a player who makes the difference – it was also seen at the away game in Bielefeld.
Klaus initially prepared the goals of Noel Futkeu (25th minute) and Marco John (81st), then he scored 3: 1 (1: 0) goal (90.+4). In the meantime, Marius Wörl had balanced (50th) for Bielefeld.
Legend for Bielefeld for the break – or: possession of the ball is not everything
“It’s a well -deserved victory”said Fürth’s trainer Thomas Kleine in the Sportschau interview. Bielefeld’s coach Mitch Kniat saw the same. He said the sports show: “Today we beat ourselves.“
Mareike Zeck, Sportschau, September 19, 2025 10:42 p.m.
At first, his team was not game -determining, but at least one opponent at eye level. When referee Tobias Welz ended the first half, statisticians had noted seven goal finishes for Arminia Bielefeld and 65 percent possession, but the degrees were often harmless and the possession of the ball is not everything. Until then, a goal had fallen – the guests from Fürth had scored.
Klaus Flach fit into the penalty area from the right. There was Branimir Hrgota, who took a step towards the ball and then let it go. So Futkeu came to a conclusion. For Futkeu, 22, it was the fifth goal in the sixth league game this season. Not a bad balance.
Futkeus shot was deflected by Bielefeld’s Maximilian Große. Goalkeeper Jonas Kesken was therefore without an opportunity.
Wörl’s shot is deflected – and Bielefeld cheers
It was similar when a goal fell later, this time the Bielefeld cheered: after the presentation of Mael Corboz, Wörl came to the shot. Bielefeld’s midfielder did not hit the ball optimally, his shot would not have landed in the goal. He landed there only because Fürth’s Brynjar Ingi Bjarnason wasted.
Arminias Grodowski has the great chance, but fails
In the final phase, Wörl was injured on the calf. He was therefore on the replacement bank when his teammate Joel Grodowski missed the great chance of a second goal for Bielefeld. After the presentation of Corboz, Grodowski suddenly appeared in front of the goal, but failed Fürth’s goalkeeper Pelle Boevink (75th). “He can also go in”said coach Kniat the Sportschau.
Fürth’s John crosses into the goal of the Arminia
The chance awarded should still take revenge. After a free kick, Klaus returned to defender John. Its cross from the left side was probably intended as a cross, but led to the lead for the guests. Fürth’s defense chief Philipp Ziereis went to the ball in the penalty area, but did not touch him. So John’s flank slid past friends and enemy into the goal of the Arminia.
Shortly afterwards, the Fürther cheered twice, initially only briefly: the ex-Bielefeld Jermaine Consbruch served Hrgota, which was completed with his right foot in the far corner. But this was not the first goal of the season from Hrgota because there was apparently a teammate offside before – at least the Var referee Welz had drawn attention to this.
With full tension in the short corner – Fürth’s Klaus ensures the final point
Fürth’s Klaus then provided the end of the game. The preparatory work came from Hrgota, he claimed the Ball Clever and then sent Klaus, who sprinted into the penalty area and hit the short corner with full tension. For Klaus it was the fifth goal of the season. Then it was over. This time the Fürther cheered longer.
