At the start of the season for ice hockey nostalgics, the Düsseldorfer eG celebrated a victory in its first second division game in 25 years.

The DEG won 5: 4 after extension at the Starbulls Rosenheim at the start of the DEL2 on Friday evening. Emil Quaas scored the decisive goal in front of 4425 spectators.

After the descent, DEG starts a new beginning with a retired squad – and the two clubs Andreas Niederberger and Rick Amann in the management.

It started in Rosenheim, in a duel with great history: from 1988 both clubs met five times in series either in the semi-finals or finals of the Bundesliga playoffs.
