Kazan doctors had to change stitches for girls who suffered in Turkey

In Turkey, an unknown person attacked two tourists from Tatarstan with a Japanese sword. He dealt several blows with a katana and disappeared. Have the Russians suffered greatly? And is it true that this is not the first similar attack on tourists?

A sharp blow to the back, darkness in the eyes, blows to the head, pain and blood. The surprise attack took place as the Kazan tourists were returning to an Istanbul hotel in the city’s tourist district. The girls sensed something was wrong when they realized that someone was running after them down the street. They tried to hide, but failed.

Knocking down the victim, he continued to strike. Beat melee weapons – japanese katana sword. The girls screamed, but no one answered the call. I had to save myself. The attacker delivered most of the blows with the back of the weapon, so the tourist miraculously escaped.

The victim has a deep laceration on her head and multiple bruises all over her body. The girls immediately sought medical help at a local hospital. The wounds were sutured there only three hours later.

Already in Kazan, I had to turn to the doctors again. The stitches appeared to have been placed incorrectly, and it remains to be seen what the consequences of the attack will be. You can count on decent medical care abroad only if you have insurance, experts say.

“The price is quite low. For example, if you go to Istanbul for a week, a policy will cost about 500 rubles. For two weeks – about 1,000 rubles. It costs much less than people spend on a ticket. At least there is confidence that will provide assistance,” says Rustem Sabirov, Vice President of the Union of Insurers of Tatarstan.

The girls wrote a statement to the local police. The video from the surveillance cameras was obtained only with the help of the Russian embassy in Turkey. This is not an isolated case of attacks on tourists.

At the end of January last year, in the Besiktas district of Istanbul, a local resident attacked three Russians. All the victims were hospitalized – one girl received seven stab wounds. He was later sentenced to 36 years in prison. Whether the attacker on the Kazan tourists will be found is an open question.
