Actor Ezra Miller, known from “Justice League” in the role of the superhero Flash, was arrested after riots in a bar in Hawaii. He is accused of disturbing the peace and harassment.
Obscene remarks and physical attacks
According to a statement obtained by the Guardian, police say Miller was found “upset” at a karaoke bar in Hilo. He would have shouted “obscene” statements through the room and also snatched the microphone from a guest. He is said to have later pounced on a man who was playing darts. Despite pleas from the bar owner to calm down, Miller would not have stopped.
The 29-year-old is said to have been released on Monday morning (March 28) on bail of $500. There has been no official statement on the incident so far.
For the second time in conflict with the law
11 years ago, Miller found himself on the police radar when he was caught with 20 grams of marijuana while filming the romance drama Maybe Better Tomorrow, in which he played Patrick. At that time, a fine of 600 US dollars was due. He is said to have shown little understanding and emphasized that it was a harmless substance whose consumption he did not need to conceal.
In the coming year, the actor, who describes himself as non-binary, will be seen in the lead role in the action/science fiction feature film “The Flash”. He also played the Flash role in Zach Snyder’s film adaptation of Justice League, and one of his scenes from the flick won a new category, Cheer-worthy Moments, at this year’s Oscars. This appointment subsequently led to much ridicule on the Internet.
