Jury on fraud trial Elizabeth Holmes disagrees | Economy

After seven days of deliberation, the jury said it could not find a consensus on three of the 11 fraud charges against the 37-year-old former Silicon Valley star. Holmes has to answer for allegedly lying about a blood test from her company Theranos and about the company’s financial prospects. She faces up to 20 years in prison.

It is not clear why the judges do not agree. A unanimous verdict is needed to acquit or convict Holmes.

The judge asked the eight men and four women to deliberate further, adding that there is no rush. The case lasted three months and dozens of witnesses came forward.
