The Civil Guard has analyzed new evidence that would prove the relationship of the producer José Luis Moreno, main investigated in the ‘operation Titella’, with the actor and director Safe Santiago, which would have been used in 2017 to sign the contract for a series with TVE, since his debts with the Treasury were not allowed.
In a 345-page report, to which Efe has had access and which has recently been sent to the Central Court of Instruction number 2 of the National audience, that investigates the corporate network of Moreno, the Civil Guard analyzes the documentation intervened in the registry of the home of the popular ventriloquist in Boadilla del Monte (Madrid) last June 29.
Among this documentation, consisting of notebooks, agendas and calendar sheets, a series of notes have been found that would also demonstrate the alleged collusion of the former directors of Content and Programming of TVE Antonio Luis Sevilla Rivas and his successor Fernando López Puig, as well as the president of RTVE José Antonio Sánchez, with José Luis Moreno for the signing of said contract.
Specifically, there are two annotations that, in the opinion of the agents, corroborate the existing relationship between the company Comprehensive Mundox, considered the shell company used to sign said contract, Moreno and Santiago Segura.
“Given that Moreno could not sign contracts with public television, due to the debts he had with the Treasury, he did so with this company that he bought and put in the name of (Raul) Pontvianne -another of those investigated-, under the pretext of recording a new series that he was producing, (HERE I RULE AND .COM)”.
In this way, he intended to sign a contract for an amount of 8 million euros, the report continues, but “since it was a small company, and without guarantees, it contacted Santiago Segura, which would serve as a guarantee, before this public entity”.
To make these claims, the investigators also rely on the statement made by another of the main defendants, Antonio Luis Aguilera, before the Investigating Court No. 14 of Madrid, which initially heard of these investigations.
In that statement, Aguilera acknowledged that he fraudulently obtained financing for Moreno’s network and assured that the producer was not only knowledgeable, “but also participated and benefited by receiving the money obtained from this illegal activity.”
Financing
In this way, he added, he obtained financing for a project that had been signed “with TVE, Santiago Segura and the company Integral Mundox Producciones, given that Moreno did not have any company that could sign with TVE as he had debts with Social Security and the Treasury.”
Thus, and “according to what has been learned through the different lines of investigation, as well as the contracts and documents seized during the searches”, the Civil Guard concludes that Santiago Segura “through the company AMIGUETES ENTERTAINMENT SL, in collaboration with society INTEGRAL MUNDOX PRODUCTIONS SL, In 2017, he signed a contract for €6,299,106.47 with TVE, for the recording of the José Luis MORENO series, HERE I COMMAND YO Y .COM”.
The bite”
To sign this contract, the Civil Guard maintains that Moreno “had numerous contacts and meetings with the then Directors of Content and Programming Antonio Luis Sevilla Rivas and with Fernando López Puig PUIG (successor of Sevilla) and with the President of RTVE José Antonio Sánchez Domínguez “.
In fact, there are several annotations in the intervened agendas in which he refers to meetings with López Puig and regarding one of them he noted: “López Puig. Close Contract Director and Bite”.
Regarding the latter, the Civil Guard indicates in its report: “everyone knows the expression ‘BITE’ making clear reference to the money or benefit obtained from an individual by an official or employee, with abuse of the powers of his position.”
In another entry, reference is made to a meeting with Fernando López Puig “and it is noted withdraw 2,000 euros to pay a certain Fernando”, which the agents relate to said “bite”.
“As can be seen, Moreno’s contacts with the direction of TVE were continuous, despite not being able to work for a public entity like this one,” observe the researchers, who also refer to other annotations in which Moreno indicates that López Puig received an “addendum”.
“It is unknown what Moreno wants to refer to with this annotation, although it is clear that whatever it was, that he wanted the Content Director of TVE to receive, he received it,” the report states.
The Civil Guard collects other annotations referring again to the popular director of Torrente: “Asuntos Pagar TVE – Call Santiago Segura header GLOW & DARKNESS and Guillermo del Toro”.
