Shock for golf professional: girlfriend dies at the age of 28

In the spring, Jake Knapp cheered with his girlfriend about a big tournament victory. Now the golf professional is there without them.
The American golfer Jake Knapp mourns his partner Makena White. As several British media unanimously report, it died at the age of only 28 years. A supposed friend of the deceased also confirmed death on their Instagram page.
“Hello everyone, here is a friend of Makena. With a heavy heart I have to tell you that Makena died at the beginning of this week,” says a selfie of the 28-year-old. She was “unique” and a person who always felt the feeling of being something special. “Her big heart was always full of love. To be loved by Makena was a gift that was accompanied by an endless laugh, a lot of joy and a healthy portion of chaos when we tried to keep up with her travel schedule,” it continues. The post ends with the words: “We love you, Mak. We will always miss you and look for you in the sun.”
Golf professional Knapp and White have been a couple for a little more than a year. The two most recently celebrated together at the award ceremony of the Mexico Open in February 2024. In that tournament, almost his greatest success was celebrated on the PGA tour so far.
So far, no details have become known about the exact circumstances of Makena White’s death. However, an official statement by Knapp has not yet been available.
