Italy’s football threatens another forced break

In view of the high number of corona infections among the players, there is apparently another forced break in Italian professional football.

Prime Minister Mario Draghi is said to have submitted a corresponding proposal to Gabriele Gravina, head of the Italian Football Association. Draghi therefore demanded that one should consider suspending the championship entirely or playing the games without spectators.

Unlike in Germany, fans are still allowed in the stadium in Italy – currently the stadiums can be filled to 50 percent. The 2G obligation applies. In 2020, gaming operations were suspended for almost three and a half months.
