‘Israeli army is building a road straight through Gaza to separate the north and south’

The Israeli army is said to be building a road across the entire width of the Gaza Strip. The research institute has that The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) concluded on Monday evening. According to the institute, the army wants to use the road, in the south of Gaza City, to control the movement of Gazans from the north to the south.

The road could cut off the north and south of the Gaza Strip and thus facilitate Israeli attacks. According to an Israeli journalist who works with the army, soldiers are preparing “for a very long stay” in the area.

Since the beginning of January, Hamas fighters have been trying to return to the north of the Gaza Strip to rebuild their military capabilities, according to ISW. Palestinian fighters from the Islamic Jihad movement reportedly fired rockets at the Israeli army on Monday to prevent the construction of the road.
