‘Is electric driving unfeasible if you have a caravan?’ † Question answer

Car editor Niek Schenk answers: ‘An electric car is perhaps still somewhat accessible for caravan enthusiasts as a company car, thanks to the additional tax benefit. But the private driver still has to bring a big wallet. A fully electric caravan tractor with a significant towing weight currently costs at least 45,000 euros. You also end up in the price range above 40,000 euros with plug-in hybrids with some pulling power. With the petrol hybrids without a plug you can find a good tow car for between 35,000 and 40,000 euros. Examples include the Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage. But you won’t get very far with that completely electric. So your conclusion is correct: affordable electric driving with a caravan is not yet in sight.’
