Model Anni Uusivirta, 39, is expecting her first child. He tells about it Ilta-Sanom in the interview.

– I will become a mother at the beginning of the summer. A baby is the best birthday gift, even if he won’t be able to come to my birthday in mid-May, Uusivirta tells the magazine.

In the fall of 2025, the couple decided they were ready for the life change that a child would bring. Uusivirta says that she was surprised how quickly she got pregnant.

Uusivirta has lived abroad his entire adult life. She currently lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she works as a flight attendant.

Uusivirta plans to give birth in Dubai, where giving birth could be expensive. However, his employment contract includes insurance that covers all expenses.

Uusivirta and his spouse Leandro have been together for about 10 years. Uusivirta has previously told Iltalehti how, due to cultural differences, marriage was already discussed at the beginning of the relationship.

According to Uusivirta, Leandro’s friends usually got engaged after a year of dating. Uusivirta was a bit overwhelmed by his spouse’s busy schedule, and the fact that the couple didn’t necessarily even need to get married was new to the spouse.

Uusivirta has described the couple’s biggest cultural difference as their family orientation.

– Leandro has wondered if I have a quarrel with my family, when every time we meet we hug each other so quickly. He has said we are so cold to each other. In his culture, family members are hugged for five minutes and given kisses on the cheeks and large displays of affection, he said earlier.

– Their family also says “I love you” a lot. I believe I love my own family just as much, but we don’t say it out loud.
