Armie Hammer believes that he himself is responsible for the largely stagnation of his career. “I caused these problems myself,” says the actor, known for the film Call Me by Your Name, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“This didn’t just happen to me by chance,” says Hammer. “I didn’t do what people say I did. But I let very dangerous and unsafe people into my life and I offended people close to me, and that’s how we ended up here.”

“Healthy people don’t behave the way I behaved at the time,” said Hammer. “Drink, women, affirmation, experiences, I just wanted to consume. Everything. More, more, more,” says the actor. According to Hammer, he has been working on himself. “I realized that I could simply focus on myself, my children, staying healthy and growing as a person. You can make that your life’s goal.”

Hammer starred in major productions until he came under fire in 2021 after allegations of sexual abuse and reports of violent sexual fantasies, including cannibalism. He was still married to Elizabeth Chambers at the time. She filed for divorce. The actor denied the allegations and was not criminally charged. However, Hammer had difficulty finding acting jobs after the accusations.
