Will Dutch skater be chosen in IOC athletes committee?
BEIJING – Will the Netherlands have something to say again within the gates of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)? That is the big question when it is announced on Thursday which winter sports enthusiasts have been chosen in the athletes’ committee of this mighty stronghold. Ireen Wüst is a candidate on behalf of the Netherlands and there is now a lot of voting in the Olympic villages of Beijing. Sixteen athletes from six different sports have run for election; only two are chosen for this influential position.
