BEIJING – Kjeld Nuis (32) and Ireen Wüst (35) have increased the pressure on their roommate Femke Kok very much. “Yes, she said that herself,” says Wüst with a laugh at Medal Plaza, where the good-natured skating greats just received her gold medal. She and Nuis are now both assured of their first Olympic title in Beijing, while debutante Femke Kok (21) will only compete in the 500 meters on Sunday.
