Investigators have found out the name of the vodka, from which 9 people died in Tyumen

In the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, eight people died from poisoning with surrogate vodka. A criminal case was initiated. All outlets are checked. Low-quality alcohol caused death of nine people in Tyumen. Detained four, they are suspected of implementing a surrogate. How many bottles they managed to sell in total is unknown.

“Springs of Siberia” – this name, according to the investigation, was printed on the label of counterfeit vodka, which, presumably, poisoned the victims.

Now these bottles are no longer visible on local counters.

The residents of Tyumen bought this product, apparently, in convenience stores. It is there that low-quality alcohol is still found. And in the same place, despite all the checks, they sell alcohol at night. There are several such stores in the area where this supposedly happened. One is now closed. There are four suspects in this case.

“At present, the scene of the incident has been inspected, as well as searches at the place of residence of suspects and victims. Investigators are questioning witnesses. The necessary expertise has been appointed,” says Lyudmila Galstyan, senior assistant of the Investigative Committee of the RF IC for the Tyumen region for interaction with the media.

According to the Tyumen Rospotrebnadzor, over 200 people were poisoned by counterfeit alcohol in the region over the past year. More than half of them died. Methyl alcohol is poison for humans. Even a single use of it is often fatal.
