INTERVIEW. Bouchez again pleads to limit unemployment benefits, but immediately insults his coalition partners: “Old-fashioned left-wing parties are holding the government hostage”

In two weeks, the federal government will enter into a conclave to discuss tax reform, pensions and – so various parties hope – a labor market reform. MR chairman Georges-Louis Bouchez is already opening that discussion, by submitting a bill after his previous pleas to stop unemployment benefits after 2 years. “That is not profiling, but simply necessary. I do not want Belgium to become a decoction of the sinister regions where the PS has ruled for years.”
