After the sobering team competition, three German ski racers are fighting for World Cup medals in parallel individual races.
A German ski trio around slalom specialist Lena Dürr competes for World Cup medals in parallel individual races on Wednesday. In addition to the 31-year-old from Munich, the technicians Linus Straßer and Alexander Schmid can also hope for a podium finish in France.
Schmid was third in qualifying, Dürr and Straßer fourth. “It was really fun. After it didn’t work that well today, I want to do better tomorrow”said Durr.
Four other Germans did not qualify
Andrea Filser, Jessica Hilzinger, Sebastian Holzmann and Fabian Gratz, on the other hand, missed out on the finals.
16 athletes will start in the knockout race on Wednesday from 12 p.m. Each ski racer drives once on the red giant slalom course and once on the blue giant slalom course. The maximum gap after the first run is half a second. The slower athletes take the deficit from the first run with them. If the total time is equal after the second heat, the athlete with the faster time in heat two wins.
