Collapsing new buildings: Alexander Hackes Statement

“I, Alexander Hacke, would like to announce that I have left the collapsing new buildings,” writes Hacke. He did not make the decision easy, explains Hacke in the statement that he starts with “To whom it may concern”.

Hacke mentions personal and artistic differences as the reason for his farewell, but he does not discuss more precisely. “This band was my family for more than four decades, but after many conversations and efforts to solve our differences, it has been obvious for some time that our basic standards, personally and professionally, have divided at every level.”

Member since 1980

Alexander Hacke entered the band in 1980, initially as a guitarist. In 1985 he switched to bass. Born in Berlin, he also published a variety of musical projects away from the band around front man Blixa Bargeld-from solo albums to film music. Among other things, Hacke and his wife Danielle de Picciotto run the Hackedepicciotto project.
