In the middle of this year, updated climate temperature standards will be adopted, said Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center.
He noted that such a transition had been planned since the beginning of the year, but due to technical difficulties for various departments, this could be done only by the summer.
Vilfand confirmed that the climate is changing, and, for example, in Moscow, this leads to the fact that the period when motorists need to use winter tires is reduced. Winters in the capital region are getting warmer.
Meteorologists review climate temperature norms every 30 years. The current ones correspond to the statistical data for 1961-1990, writes RIA News.
