In Buryatia, the level of the emergency, introduced due to a fire at the TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude, has been lowered from regional to municipal. About it reported on the website of the press service of the government of the republic.

“It was decided to transfer the emergency mode of the regional level of response due to the fire at CHPP-1 to the emergency mode of municipal importance in connection with the stabilization of the situation,” it was reported.

On the night of December 23, a fire broke out at TPP-1 in Ulan-Ude. The press service of the city administration reported that there was a short circuit, after which a fire started in the cable compartment. This led to the shutdown of four boilers and two turbine generators.

As a result of the emergency at the power plant, most of the Zheleznodorozhny district of the city, as well as 13 schools, 25 kindergartens and 12 healthcare facilities, were left without hot water. Because of the accident, an emergency regime was declared in Ulan-Ude and the supply of heat to 791 apartment buildings was limited. Residents asked limit the use of electrical appliances.
