The French-speaking socialist trade union for public services CGSP calls the strike “a strong signal to political leaders to demand that extensive and unconditional financing of public services is a priority”.
Specifically for the RTBF, the union demands, among other things, a minimum wage of 2,400 euros gross per month and measures to reduce the workload.
The VRT will also strike on May 31. The common trade union front immediately protests against the transformation plan announced at the end of April. The management then announced, among other things, that 116 naked redundancies are needed, 50 natural leavers cannot be replaced and the production of ‘Thuis’ will be outsourced.
The unions want to set up a strike on that day and are not asking to continue broadcasting on radio and TV or the offer on the Internet.
