Magnus Carlsen has once again won the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in an impressive way. The Norwegian grandmaster did so without losing a single match.

Magnus Carlsen has been the world champion since 2013 and showed in Wijk aan Zee why he is the best. On Saturday, the Norwegian defeated the number four in the world Fabiano Caruana. A draw was actually enough for Carlsen, but the American gave up after 47 moves. With one round to go, Carlsen is already assured of the tournament win.

Eighth title

This victory means his eighth title in Wijk aan Zee. Carlsen did that for the first time in 2008, but then he had to share the title with Levon Aronian. The other seven times he defeated the entire field.
