Iivo Niskanen had to miss the Tour de Ski due to illness.

The Finnish star skier’s interview was heard on Viaplay’s studio broadcast on Saturday. Niskanen admitted without embellishing that he hasn’t had much fun in front of the TV during the skiing competitions.

Even Perttu Hyvärinen the sensational win Niskanen had to miss.

– I have watched more darts than skiing. I haven’t been very interested in watching skiing. On New Year’s Eve, I was out and about when messages started coming in that Perttu would win. Had to start listening to the commentary.

– Yes, the chills went away. I had to send a video greeting to Pera. It was quite a jackpot, well deserved of course! He’s been pounding for so many hours that it was nice news, Niskanen beamed on Viaplay.

“The V-curve is starting to fall”

Niskanen said that he had no more “good cards” left.

– Strange cramps and blackouts started to occur in Trondheim – a bit atypical. It was painful then, the disease came.

Even before Christmas, the fever rose.

– I lived alone in a hotel room for two weeks and still got sick. The luck wasn’t quite right.

The situation is already better, and the workouts are below.

– The V-curve is already starting to decrease little by little. I will try to be at my best in the World Cup in Lahti and Holmenkollen. I would even have achieved one of my goals for this season.
