Ice hockey, DEL: Iserlohn Roosters report back with a show of strength against Augsburg – ice hockey – sport

Broda fails twice against Roy – equal game

In the second period, Iserlohn had to act outnumbered early on due to a small penalty against Philip Riefers, but was able to prevent dangerous Augsburg shots for the time being.

Shortly afterwards it was the other way around – Augsburg’s Samir Kharboutli had to go down. Iserlohn, statistically one of the top powerplay teams in the league, was allowed to push the opponent in behind on the powerplay.

Labrie directs more aggressive guests

Apart from a few less dangerous shots in this phase, Roosters player John Broda failed twice decisively at Augsburg goalie Olivier Roy. Iserlohn was now increasingly defying the Panthers – also with their own offensive accents. Shortly afterwards, Nick Schilkey put the puck on the side netting.

And because of that, the Roosters’ lead was okay. Defender Labrie intervened decisively in attack, positioning himself in the center and sinking the disc in the far corner.

Iserlohn kept this line in the final third, but Augsburg pressed – the Panthers were on duty. However, Roosters goalie Andreas Jenike showed a strong performance and saved a few Augsburg shots towards the end.
