“I never take this for granted”

Vocalist Floor Jansen took to the stage on Friday for the first time after a break of almost half a year.

In the summer, Jansen, who was pregnant, had to cancel Nightwish’s last performance before the break and her own solo concert planned for three weeks later due to health problems.

– I was exhausted after my last Nightwish concert. I collapsed and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. I am so tired that continuing to work is no longer an option, Jansen wrote on his Instagram account in July.

The Dutch-born Jansen will give a concert on Friday at Amsterdam’s AFAS Live arena. Jansen describes his feelings after the concert on Instagram.

– I will never take this for granted, Jansen wrote in his update published on Friday evening.

– I was nervous and even worried about being on stage again 9 weeks after I brought Lucy into this world. But it was like a dream. What a wonderful evening I got to share with you. Now let’s continue to 2024 with new energy, Jansen enthuses in the caption of the second update.

Jansen performed at the concert together with his sister by Irene Jansen and a musician Anneke van Giersbergin with. It was the biggest solo performance of Jansen’s career.

Jansen broke his long social media silence in November. She said that both she and her two-month-old daughter are healthy.

– It’s time to return to the real world after a good break. I’m in full force after the summer, the singer assured.

Jansen had breast cancer last winter.

Nightwish will release their tenth studio album next year, but will not go on tour with it. Instead, Jansen hints in his publications about several upcoming solo gigs.

Jansen told about the birth of baby Lucy in October. The couple already has a six-year-old daughter Freya.

– Health is not a given. I humbly inform you that both the baby girl and the mother are doing great, Jansen wrote on Instagram in October.
