According to media reports, German fashion company Hugo Boss has parted ways with a supplier that sources in the Chinese region of Xinjiang, which has come under criticism for forced labor and mass incarceration of Uyghurs, Kazakhs and other Muslim minorities.

After online news outlet BuzzFeed News last month accused Hugo Boss and other major clothing brands of collaborating with China’s Esquel Group, a company that gins and spins cotton in facilities in Xinjiang, Buzzfeed News is now reporting that Hugo Boss has split from separated from his supplier.

So far, Hugo Boss has not commented on the matter. Hugo Boss has not yet responded to a request from FashionUnited.
