HSV millions of poker with Klaus-Michael Kühne before the climax

Will Hamburger SV still accept the 120 million euro offer from shareholder Klaus-Michael Kühne? Apparently, there should be concrete negotiations between the billionaire and the HSV bosses Marcell Jansen, Bernd Wehmeyer and Michael Papenfuss in the second half of September.

As “Bild” reports, the HSV presidium wants to prepare the negotiations with Kühne in the coming week.

Both sides are currently in written contact and there is an exchange of views, according to the report.

In the last few weeks, a ten-point plan by the investor has caused a stir at HSV. Kühne is apparently willing to make 120 million euros available for the economic restructuring of the club.

HSV rejects first Kühne offer

After an initial rejection by Jansen and fan protests, Kühne has now revised his offer, it is said.

He is “not about influencing the fortunes of HSV Fußball AG or even exercising power,” he said.

As the simplest solution for Kühne’s continued involvement with HSV “Picture” a long-term agreement on the naming rights to the Volksparkstadion came into play. It is therefore unlikely that Kühne will be satisfied with this.

HSV needs support

One thing is clear: HSV urgently needs fresh money. The renovation of the stadium alone is said to cost 40 million euros. In addition, debt should be reduced. The Kühne millions would be just right.

However, if Kühne, who already owns 15.21 percent of HSV Fußball AG, would like to acquire additional shares, this would first require an amendment to the articles of association, which would have to be approved by the members.

According to the report, a commission is currently examining different models for changing the legal form. The results are to be presented at the general meeting in January.
