HSV: Manuel Wintzheimer arouses interest in the 2nd Bundesliga and abroad

Decision expected soon

The signs at Manuel Wintzheimer (23) and Hamburger SV are goodbye. As recently the “picture‘ reported, the attacker’s expiring contract will not be extended. The same should apply to Jan Gyamerah (26). According to the paper Wintzheimer is expected to make a decision about his sporting future after the upcoming game at FC Ingolstadt – according to which the former junior international has contracts from five clubs from the 2nd Bundesliga and one club each from the Italian Serie A and the Dutch Eredivisie .

The newspaper did not name which teams are involved. Wintzheimer is about to make the third transfer of his professional career after moving from Bayern Munich’s youth team to the “Rothosen” in 2018 and being on loan at VfL Bochum in the 2019/20 season. The offensive player has played 71 games at HSV to date, in which he contributed eight goals and 15 assists.

This season, however, Wintzheimer did not get beyond the role of joker under coach Tim Walter, which is why he has only 790 minutes of play and three goals involved in 29 appearances across all competitions. Its market value recently fell in winter to currently one million euros. The native Bavarian was mainly used on the wings, although he “originally felt a bit more comfortable in the center”, as he said last summer in the “Hamburger Morgenpostrevealed. “But I’ve become more flexible in recent years and fortunately I can be deployed in a variety of ways.”

In addition to Wintzheimer and Gyamerah, loan players Giorgi Chakvetadze (22; came from KAA Gent) and Mikkel Kaufmann (21; FC Copenhagen) should not have a future on the Elbe and should return to their respective regular clubs. In addition, the free transfer of Faride Alidou (20) in the direction of Eintracht Frankfurt is already certain.
