Handball Bundesliga team HSV Hamburg clinched their first win of the new season at the last second.
Coach Torsten Jansen’s team won their home game against SC DHfK Leipzig 35:34 (16:18) and thus achieved an important breakthrough in the bottom of the table. After four games, HSV is now in 15th place, level on points with Leipzig (13).
The hosts took the lead in the middle of the second half and initially pulled ahead by four goals in the final phase through Jacob Lassen (54th).
However, Leipzig came close again and equalized to 34:34 eight seconds before the final siren. After a time out, the outstanding Lassen (ten goals) scored for Hamburg to win.
After Hamburg’s success, only HSG Wetzlar is now without a point in the Bundesliga. However, the Hessians will face Frisch Auf on Sunday (4:30 p.m./Dyn)! Göppingen.
