HSV gives contract to former loan player Muheim

Hamburg (AP) – Second division soccer team Hamburger SV has committed left-back Miro Muheim. The 23-year-old previous loan player will receive a contract until June 30, 2025, the club announced.

Before the current season, Muheim had been loaned out by the Swiss first division club FC St. Gallen from Hamburg. After Tim Leibold ruptured his cruciate ligament, he took over his position on the left side of defense and impressed. In the previous 27 league games, he was used 16 times. In the 1-1 draw at Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday, however, he was replaced after just 24 minutes due to an injury.

Last week, HSV had already signed Croatian Mario Vuskovic, who had also been on loan. Like Muheim, the central defender signed a contract until 2025. He moved to Hamburg from Hajduk Split in the summer.
