2. Bundesliga on Saturday
HSV could not win four games in a row, the situation in the promotion race was precarious. A win was needed against Paderborn. But after just a few seconds, the first shock came.
Hamburger SV is gradually saying goodbye to the promotion race of the 2nd Bundesliga. The Rothosen lost their home game against Paderborn on Matchday 28 1:2 and are nine points behind the relegation place. Particularly bitter: HSV missed a penalty and scored two offside goals. In the parallel games, Darmstadt celebrated an important home three and Hannover scored against Regensburg.
Hamburger SV – SC Paderborn
Coach Tim Walter’s team lost to SC Paderborn 1:2 (0:1) in their local Volkspark after a nasty false start and loses sight of the big goal after five league games in a row without a win. This was acknowledged by whistles from the fans.
Dennis Srbeny (1st) shocked the Rothosen after just 47 seconds with a dream goal, for HSV it was the fastest goal conceded in second division history. After the break, Robert Glatzel missed a great opportunity to equalize after a penalty kick (57′), before Srbeny struck again in front of 27,136 spectators (61′). The connection by Giorgi Tschakwetadze (90 + 3) came too late.
The North Germans continued a curious curse: HSV is still waiting for a win in April in the fourth year in the second division. Hamburg will continue on Tuesday with the catch-up game against Erzgebirge Aue.
Darmstadt 98 – Holstein Kiel
Darmstadt 98 has presented in the promotion race of the absolute top teams and initially regained the lead in the table. The Lilies won at home against Holstein Kiel 3-1 (2-0).
Matthias Bader (10th) scored the opening goal for the Hessians, who have 51 points, in front of 13,400 fans. Aaron Seydel (45′) made it 2-0 for the hosts just before half-time after Bader’s assist.
Hanover 96 – SSV Jahn Regensburg
Hannover 96 still haven’t found their way back to success and weren’t able to win even after 64 minutes outnumbered. The Lower Saxony did not get past a 1: 1 (1: 1) against Jahn Regensburg and remain within reach of Dynamo Dresden on relegation rank 16.
It was the fifth competitive game in a row without a win for the North Germans. The distance between Hanover and Dresden is four points.
Sebastian Stolze (39th) headed the ball to make it 1-1, to the delight of the 9,200 spectators. Andreas Albers (23rd) had headed the Upper Palatinate into the lead, but from the 26th minute the guests had to play outnumbered. Carlo Boukhalfa rightly received the red card for gross foul play (26th).
