HSV coach Walter wave reinforcements

After the decision of the supervisory board of the Hamburger SV football club, coach Tim Walter can plan with personnel reinforcements.

“It’s clear that we need someone,” said Walter before the Hanseatic League’s second division game at Arminia Bielefeld. “But we’ll do it together. It’s not my fault. It’s always a joint decision, and we’ll take it together.”

The board of directors of the economically ailing club had decided to release funds for new players. “There is room for transfer options,” HSV President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board Marcel Jansen announced shortly before midnight on the club’s website.

By participating in the resale of ex-professionals Amadou Onana from OSC Lille to FC Everton and Filip Kostic from Eintracht Frankfurt to Juventus Turin, HSV received an unplanned sum of more than five million euros. According to information from “Bild”, sports director Jonas Boldt can spend up to three million euros.

Kühne makes the HSV million offer

The club could sign winger Jean-Luc Dompé from Belgian first division club SV Zulte Waregem as early as next week. The Frenchman is said to come to the promotion candidate for around 1.5 million euros.

Otherwise, the Supervisory Board had little to say after the meeting. There was no position on the offer from the investor and multi-billionaire Klaus-Michael Kühne (85), who had offered 120 million euros under conditions. Information was still given on the motion to vote out CFO Thomas Wüstefeld.

According to information from the “Hamburger Abendblatt” and the “kicker”, member of the supervisory board Hans-Walter Peters had submitted the motion of no confidence – and withdrawn it again. The controversial 53-year-old Wüstefeld is allowed to stay.
