HSV: Bruchhagen would accept Kühne’s offer

The former CEO of the current second division soccer team Hamburger SV, Heribert Bruchhagen, would accept the offer from the controversial investor Klaus-Michael Kühne. The billionaire had promised the traditional club from the Elbe a cash injection of 120 million euros – but this was subject to conditions.

“Yes, I would accept it,” said Bruchhagen on Monday at “Sport1”, “I’ve had conversations with Kühne that were different. Of course, if he called players lunatic, I wasn’t enthusiastic. But he thinks very constructively , and I would accept that 120 million offer with everything I could.”

However, he would explain to him “how a club works, what HSV eV means, what HSV AG means: respect for the members”. Kühne certainly started with the maximum demands, “now we need good discussions with Mr. Kühne, his wife and those around him. You have to find a way to get everyone on board. But you can’t do without this offer “, so the 73-year-old Bruchhagen.

Most recently, the 85-year-old Kühne denied wanting to influence the fortunes of HSV or even “exercise power”. Born in Hamburg, he offers “exclusively significant support for the establishment of healthy financial circumstances,” it said in an official statement he published.

Bruchhagen firmly believes that the founding member of the Bundesliga will soon be first class again: “The club is in a difficult situation. And yet HSV has incredible strength in the north. It’s only a matter of time before it’s back in the premier league shows up.” However, an economic zero is currently unrealistic. “The costs are far higher than the income at the moment,” said Bruchhagen.
