Second division soccer team Hamburger SV and its former sports director Michael Mutzel have reached an out-of-court settlement in the dispute over the termination of the employment relationship.
This means that the hearing scheduled for Tuesday is canceled, as the Hamburg labor court announced. The court did not provide details of the agreement.
The club parted ways with Mutzel in July last year after ongoing disputes over competence with sports director Jonas Boldt. On the other hand, the sports director had complained.
At the trial date in September 2022, both parties were unable to agree on the termination of the employment relationship. A quality appointment remained without result. The attempt to reach an out-of-court settlement agreement failed at the time.
Both sides have now reached an agreement. “I don’t want there to be a mud fight,” emphasized the 43-year-old Mutzel after the last hearing.
