How the resignation of Máximo Kirchner was experienced on social networks

It was clear that the internal relationship between Albertism and Kirchnerism would be enhanced by agreement with the IMF. And the crack deepened: “I have made the decision not to continue in charge of the presidency of the Bloc of Deputies of the Front of All”, he wrote yesterday Maximo Kirchner in a letter that was published by the Twitter account of the Front of All at 7:10 p.m.

And “Máximo Kirchner” became trending on twitter. His full name was in the first position for an hour until he was replaced simply “Maximo”. The name of the now former president of the Frente de Todos block remained among the TOP 5 trending topics for more than 13 consecutive hours, adding more than 120,000 tweets. A data: Cristina Kirchner’s son does not have social networks “officials”.

On Twitter, there is the account @MaximoKirchner_ that does a kind of “press” of the national deputy although it is outdated since it still says that he is the President of the Block of the Front of All and, strangely, his cover photo is with Alberto Fernández.

After the letter was published, the term “Maximo Kirchner” also skyrocketed in Google searches, reaching its maximum peak just 22 minutes after the news from the Frente de Todos was known. Other related terms used were “Maximo Kirchner resigns” and “Máximo Kirchner resigns”.

How did the opposition react to the resignation of the vice president’s son? The Block Chief of the Chamber of Deputies of the Radical Civic Union, mario nigriposted on his Twitter account: “It is the first time that a Peronist president loses control of the blocs. Tomorrow, Alberto Fernández is going to Moscow just when there is an escalation with Ukraine that has the world on edge and when a dozen accused of corruption will march to storm the Court”.

His peer in the Senate, Louis Naidenoffwrote: “A decision that increasingly weakens and isolates the President. Because of the factional struggle and electoral speculation, they do not measure the damage they are doing to Argentina at a time of enormous crisis.

While Alfredo Cornejo added: “Máximo Kirchner has just shown the exposed fracture of the FdT that I have been warning about for two years. They do not have a common program and they only came together to seize power. This lack of coincidences has only generated uncertainty since they have been in government”.

Other referents of the opposition also manifested themselves. The national deputy Hernan Lombarditweeted “Irresponsible”. Fernando Iglesiasfor his part, published a cataract of tweets but the most striking was the first that only said “Check”.

Christian Ritondohead of the PRO bloc of the Chamber of Deputies, wrote: “If they don’t agree among themselves, it will be very difficult to reach a consensus in Congress. They have to put their internal conflicts aside and start thinking about the country. We can not lose more time”.

The president of the Civic Coalition, Maximilian FerraroHe also stated on Twitter: “We hope that the ruling party is responsible and does not take extreme positions, in the middle is Argentina and a very complex situation. We will be serious, we will act responsibly and temperately, and we will run away from any scenario of “the worse the better”. However, Joseph Louis EspertHe said: Máximo and his mother, Cristina, are part of the problem of ending up permanently in crisis. Cristina emptied the BCRA of reserves, which is the same as borrowing.

And what did they say from the ruling party? The Security Minister, Hannibal Fernandezfor example, retweeted different tweets from the press account of Alberto Fernandez about the interview they did to the president on the television channel C5N. But the most striking thing was a cross between two deputies of the ruling party that occurred in the previous letter of Maximo Kirchner.

Victoria Tolosa Paz had published the image of the cover of one of the first payments that Nestor Kirchner did to the IMF: “Argentina paid and avoided another default” said the title. On the image, the deputy wrote: “I went to look for this cover and I told myself, once again, Peronism resolving our country’s debt with the IMF. We need to build national awareness so that we are never indebted like this again.” The answer came from Paula Penaca who came to Congress as a national deputy in 2019 and is currently the parliamentary secretary: “Don’t use Néstor Kirchner to explain Guzmán’s gifts.” Penacca later deleted the tweet.
