Here is Jukka Jalonen’s successor in Leijon

The new head coach of the Finnish men’s national ice hockey team is Antti Pennanen, Häme Sanomat news.

Pennanen is currently coaching Tampere Ilves, which he piloted to bronze last season. He has won the SM league championship at the helm of HPK in the spring of 2019.

In his career, 44-year-old Pennanen has also worked as the head coach of the Young Lions and as the assistant coach of the Lions. In Nuori Leijon, he achieved World Championship silver and bronze.

The Finnish Ice Hockey Federation’s preparatory working group will propose Penna as the next head coach of the Lions at the federal board meeting on Thursday. Pesti is supposed to be locked in Thursday’s meeting.

Pennanen steps into the shoes of Jukka Jalonen in Leijon. Jalonen has already said that the current season will be his last in Leijon.
