Severe adductor injury: National player out for months. It’s a shame

DFB national player Kevin Schade has suffered a serious adductor injury and will be out for several months.

This was confirmed by Schade’s club Brentford on Tuesday (September 27th, 2023). The 21-year-old attacker and three-time national player will have to undergo surgery this week after he was injured during the warm-up last Saturday before the game Brentford FC against the Everton FC suffered the injury.

“This is of course a blow for us,” said Brentford coach Thomas Frank on Tuesday at a press conference Premier League-Clubs. “He’s out for months.” It’s a shame for a player in whom they had great expectations.

It’s a shame – national team debut in March

Schade made his debut for the German national team in March under former national coach Hansi Flick. In Flick’s last game – the 1:4 against Japan – he also made a short appearance. Flick’s successor Julian Nagelsmann is expected to announce the squad for the DFB selection’s trip to the USA next week.

After his youth stints at SV Babelsberg and FC Energie Cottbus, the offensive man moved to the SC Freiburg juniors in the summer of 2018. He also celebrated his debut in the Bundesliga with the Breisgauers. At the beginning of this year he was loaned to Brentford, and in the summer the club bought Schade for 25 million euros.
