HelloFresh achieved a turnover of 7.6 billion euros last year, more than a quarter more than in 2021. The company had 7.1 million active customers at the end of the year. The adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes and write-downs) fell by almost 10 percent to 477 million euros. The meal box delivery person refers to a difficult macroeconomic context and inflationary pressure, among other things.
This year, HelloFresh wants to improve the customer offer, with fast deliveries and a more extensive range of meals, for example. Financially, the company expects to arrive at an adjusted EBITDA of between 460 and 540 million euros. It therefore takes into account a possible decrease. That is, it is said, because in the first half of 2022, the corona pandemic was still able to benefit significantly, with people eating at home more often or having food delivered. That effect will no longer be there this year, now that the corona measures have been lifted.
