The crowds on the Dutch roads started early on Friday. Around 2.30 pm there were already more than 50 traffic jams on the A and N roads. Shortly before 4 p.m., that number had risen to just over 100 traffic jams with a total length of more than 628 kilometers, the ANWB reports. The traffic jams are partly caused by the bad weather, accidents and the strike at the Dutch Railways, so that hardly any trains run on Friday.
