The new hotel is being built next to the main entrance of the amusement park. It will be the largest hotel in the park with 143 rooms spread over seven floors. It will have two restaurants and a spa.
The new themed area will be built on the spot where the Ghost Castle now stands. The intention is that 1250 visitors per hour can visit the attraction once it is finished in 2024. More details about the theme area and a possible farewell moment of the Spookslot will follow at a later time.
De Efteling says that the extensions will be placed on its own site, because building outside the current park grounds entails more financial risks and challenges than building on the site.
