During the British Touring Car Championship race in Silverstone, the car of Nicolas Hamilton, the younger brother of the seven times Formula 1 Lewis champion, was suddenly wrapped in the flames after starting to lose smoke on the 17th lap. Despite the dramatic scene and the speed with which the fire propagated, Hamilton managed to stop the car safely and get out unharmed, promptly helped by the commissioners.
