Haiyti apologizes after homophobia allegations

Hayti came under criticism for homophobic statements in an interview with the podcast “Talk-O-Mat”. In a 2020 episode, the rapper said she uses “gay” as a synonym for “shit” in her lyrics to provoke. The musician apologized for her behavior via social media.

In an Instagram story, Haiyti writes that she did not want to hurt anyone with her statements and is not anti-gay or anti-queer. In the past, however, she had “expressed herself stupidly”. The rapper also apologized and promised to do better in the future.

The musician also comments on Twitter:

However, the rapper cannot pull herself out of the affair without consequences. Haiyti was originally supposed to be featured on a song by PUSSY POWER, Katja Krasavice’s new album. In an Instagram story, however, she wrote: “I posted my tracklist at 4 p.m. and was told in the comments that I got someone on the album who said what homophobes should have said”. The musician continues: “I will check this immediately and if this is true, of course this person will be kicked off my album!!! Something like that has no place in my world”.

Haiyti’s statements made the headlines again because rapper Nura highlighted and commented on them in a TikTok video.

Haiyti has released seven studio albums since 2015, most recently SPEED DATE being released in December 2021.
