Guards at Acropolis in Athens are on strike during the hottest hours

The guards of the Acropolis in Athens and other archaeological sites in Greece will stop working for four hours from Thursday. As a result of the heat wave in Greece, working conditions for the guards have become very difficult, the trade union Peyfa reported on Tuesday. The WHO, following the heat wave in much of southern and eastern Europe, is giving some tips to make the heat more bearable, but they say there is an “urgent need for regional and global action”.
