The DFB Cup semi-final between Hamburger SV and SC Freiburg (1:3) on April 19, 2022 is the most visited game by users surfing on Transfermarkt. At least those who have registered for free and maintain the “Groundhopping” list in their profile. Of the 57,000 fans in the Volkspark that evening, 141 did this – ten more than in the “Rothosen” 1-0 victory in the relegation game at Hertha BSC exactly a month later. In reality, however, many more TM users would have been at these or other games at the same time. Were you at one of the games too? The groundhopping list with all games created in the TM database can be maintained in the user profile (now become part of the TM community).
About this symbol to the groundhopping tool!
There are two ways to add a game to the list: on every match report page – those that show lineups, goal scorers, etc. – there is a small stadium symbol with a plus at the top next to the competition name. Clicking on it either leads to registration, if you haven’t already done so, or to an extra window with which the game can be added to the list. There you also have the option to navigate directly to the groundhopping list. The second way is directly via the user profile, which is displayed in the main navigation bar on the far right in both the mobile and desktop browser views. In the profile navigation there is the link “Groundhopping” and there you can search for clubs and their games against each other in two input fields among the games that have already been added.
Statistics in the groundhopping tool
Once the list has been created, many interesting statistics are revealed: in addition to the classic groundhopping statistics such as stadiums visited and country points, it also shows exactly how many different players you have seen live or how many goals from different goalscorers. There are extra lists about the most visited grounds, countries and competitions, the most watched teams, players, coaches, the personal top scorers or the most valuable professionals you have seen play in the stadium.

Interesting: In the top 10 of the most visited games in the TM community, there are now four HSV games (three relegations) as well as two DFB Cup finals and the German Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich Wembley 2013, which the record champions won 2-1.
